The subject focuses on development of children from conception to 5 years and investigates the nature of relationships, family and the responsibilities of parenthood.

The AQA exam board is delivered.  This requires students to complete two controlled assessments which make up 60% of the overall qualification.  This includes analysing and writing about a child, photography, interviews and research.  Candidates also have to complete a written exam.
