Macmillan Coffee Morning Sept 2017
How did it all begin? The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, that the next year it was done nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan.
Preparations started at the beginning of term: making invitations, baking a range of delightful cakes, collecting raffle prizes, jam & pickle making. On the Thursday 28th September staff and pupils at the centre held their annual coffee morning to raise money for biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. The day hosted many stalls and activities: raffle, craft, homemade produce, Body Shop, silent auction.
The event was a great success and we managed to raise £646.90!
The morning was a great success and raised such a fantastic total thanks to all those who helped out, donated items or came to enjoy the morning with us.
Hope to see you again next year!
