Welcome to the Design & Technology Department

Key Stage 3:

Students develop their design and making skills with graphic products, resistant materials and electronic systems to produce a range of innovative and exciting products.

Projects include: an electronic night light, a desk tidy and a small storage box.

Key stage 4: GCSE Design & Technology - Resistant Materials

Resistant materials enables students to design and make products out of wood metal and plastic with creativity and originality. It is an exciting and rewarding GCSE course which provides a wide range of knowledge, skills and understanding of the design process that will be useful throughout life.

GCSE Resistant Materials is a practical subject which requires the application of developing ideas, planning and making products and evaluating them.

The course is 60% coursework and 40% exam.
