Welcome to the Food Department 

Key Stage 3

Learning about healthy eating and how to cook are key life skills important for everyone. Our year 7, 8 and 9 pupils learn about both in their Food lessons.  Practical work includes making soup, pizza, spaghetti bolognese, shepherd’s pie, fruit crumble, fruit salad and flap jacks. Pupils will also learn about basic food hygiene.

Key Stage 4

In years 10 and 11 pupils can choose to study on the OCR GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition course.  There are two assessment tasks, the Food Investigation task and the Food Preparation task which are completed in year 11 along with the written exam at the end of year 11.
